Oliva Cigars Are a Fan Favorite of Mine

“Windy days and carefree vibes.” Pretty much has been that motto of my life lately. I will say though the wind has been insane here this past week. To the point of even trying to smoke outside has been such a challenge. I even had a panel on the outside of my home fly off. But, besides that, I am doing my best to stay as relaxed as possible, even though this month has been very hectic. I have my son’s 9^th birthday coming up which makes me both happy and sad at the same time. Getting older is weird, am I right? But at least with getting older I can smoke more good cigars…including the Oliva Connecticut Reserve Robusto which is what I am smoking today. Oliva cigars I admit are a fan favorite of mine. This one stands out with its near perfect construction and smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Both the fillers and binder are Nicaraguan, and the band has the bold Oliva name with gold and white colors.

Creamy Earth Tones

It is a beautiful, VERY windy day here in Pennsylvania. I am taking my morning walk with the dog and enjoying the sunshine, even though my hair keeps blowing in my mouth. The first half of my smoke I am getting creamy Earth tones. I am a big fan of Connecticut’s in them morning. It’s like a nice calm start to the day. This is a milder cigar; I would even recommend this to a novice smoker since it won’t kick your butt. I often try not to recommend cigars to novice smokers since everyone’s taste preferences are very different, but I believe this cigar is a safe bet.

The cigar doesn’t have a lot of changes with its flavor profiles. Toward the halfway point, the cigar gets even creamier with some added wood tastes. The cigar gets to be a little stronger strength wise, but I will still put it in the mild category. I had to touch up the cigar quite a bit during my walk, but at no fault to the cigar. The wind is killer. If it wasn’t for that, the burn would have been perfect like the draw is.

Consistent and Relaxing Smoke

At the end of my smoke, the flavor profile stays the same. The cigar is consistent and a very relaxing smoke. I would suggest pairing with your morning latte and taking a break. This is one to always have in your humidor for these types of days. I also prefer the Connecticut shades towards the end of my day due to the consistency and calmness of it. I am not sure why there is such hate on Connecticut’s, but I love them all the same.
