It looks like Spring is about to arrive here in PA, which makes me even more excited to finally be able to smoke more cigars outside! For the next few months I will be reviewing cigars that were sent to me courtesy of Cigar Place! For the first review I am smoking the Camacho Ecuador! With its bright teal and black band, the cigar stands out and looks almost perfect. The cigar has a Brazilian Mata Fina binder, Ecuador Habana wrapper, and both Honduras and Dominican fillers. This is quite a unique cigar, with it being grown just below the Andes Mountains!

Leather and Pepper Notes

I'm currently outside smoking on my back patio. With temperatures hitting in the 60s today, I was sure not to miss this opportunity. The first half of my smoke consists of both leather and pepper notes. The pepper was more intense than I expected, causing my nose to run. However, this happens to me a lot with pepper so I'm not really surprised. There is also a bit of sweetness here too, but not too much. Towards the end of the first half the leather notes take a back seat to both Earth tones with a mix of chocolate and coffee. The pepper isn't as strong too, which helps in the balance of flavors. It is nice to see people out and about walking around the neighborhood. With Pennsylvania often being so dreary in the Winter, it's like everyone practically disappears.

A Good Mix of Both the Earth Tones as well as Chocolate & Coffee

At the start of the final half of my cigar, I had to touch up some due to a wavy burn. However, it was easily corrected. The draw is also a little tight as well, but I prefer that. The flavor profile changes a bit in the last half, becoming a lot sweeter without any pepper notes at all. It is a good mix of both the Earth tones as well as the chocolate/coffee. This continues for the rest of my smoke. This is to me a very easy cigar to smoke, except maybe for the first ten minutes which is full of intense pepper. I would say this falls into more of the medium-full strength, with definitely full being at the beginning. It is difficult to bring myself back inside the house, the weather was just way too nice.

One of My Favorite Camacho Sticks

This is one of my favorite sticks from Camacho, as it provides a nice blend of flavors and showcases its tobaccos very well. It is also highly affordable costing around $7.50! I highly suggest trying it, you won't forget it. I almost wish I had a nice beach flavored cocktail to go with it for this nice (almost warm) weather.
