1 x Diamond Crown Maximus #4 Toro (6" x 50, ●●●●● Full). To celebrate their 110th anniversary, they partnered with the renowned Fuente and Oliva families to create this flawless and full-bodied masterpiece of quality tobacco. Utilizing a secret Newman-crafted filler blend of Dominican longleaf, the master torcedors at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia finish each stick with an incomparable Ecuadoran Sun grown wrapper cultivated on Oliva’s exclusive El Bajo farm. This cigar’s character presents itself as the first sip of cool, spice-laden smoke reach the lips, with white pepper, vanilla cream, and espresso coating the palate soon after. Honeyed biscuits and golden raisins offer syrupy counterpoint to the earthy leather, oak, sea salt, and black cherry which form the flavor profile’s foundation from head to foot.
1 x Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Toro (6" x 52, ●●●○○ Medium). In 2010 J.C. Newman honored their patriarch by using a blend of five-year aged leaves from around the Caribbean basin of Central America which are bound in a Dominican leaf itself contained within one from Ecuador. The chewy, rich, chocolate-brown leaf with aroma to match clips easily to reveal darker tobacco at the core of the vitola. The first third of the cigar coats the tongue with biscuit and crisp white pepper, more smooth than spicy. Overarching flavors of cocoa and nuts enter once the sweet spot has been passed, supported on a column of mellow woodiness.
1 x Diamond Crown Black Diamond (6" x 52, ●●●●○ Medium-Full). Black Diamond offers a uniquely exquisite taste featuring carefully aged tobaccos not found in any other cigar in the world. It is hand-crafted by the finest cigar makers at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic exclusively for J.C. Newman Cigar Company. Construction is impeccable. The foot gives some floral aromas over some sweet tobacco sensations. There’s a fruit sweetness that emerges on the first puff. Other flavors from the initial puff include cedar, barnyard, and some darker toasty notes that transition into a very oak barrel finish. The finish is smooth with more notes of woody, and floral flavors.
1 x Diamond Crown Robusto #4 (5 ½” x 54, ●●○○○ Mild-Medium). Handmade by Tabacalera A. Fuente to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the J.C. Newman Cigar Company using Dominican tobaccos enrobed in an exclusive Connecticut Fermented Wrapper, this cigar is simply darn good. It offers mouthfuls of creamy smoke tinged with mace and buttered toast. Midway, the flavors shift with wafting almonds and hints of exotic spices, and your loyalty will be rewarded as the end of the cigar is flush with cream and nutmeg.
