Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (VSG) Wizard Cigars
Released in 1999, the Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (VSG) Wizard showcases the evolution of Ashton Cigars from a respected Cigar Boom-era line into a premium, full-bodied cigar designed for discerning smokers. Blended by Carlos Fuente Jr. of Tabacalera Fuente, the Wizard features 4- and 5-year-old Dominican tobaccos wrapped in a fragrant Ecuadoran Sun-Grown wrapper from a private Oliva family estate, creating a rich, sophisticated smoking experience.
The Ashton VSG Wizard, 6" x 56 gordo, is slowly matured under filtered sunlight. Its rugged, oily wrapper is firm yet slightly pliable, offering aromas of fresh-cut grass and wood smoke, with subtle hints of cocoa in the filler. Once lit, it burns cool and evenly with a solid ash, delivering thick, syrupy smoke with black cherry and leather notes. Midway, flavors of vanilla and oak emerge as the strength rises to full-bodied, while the final third introduces exotic spices for a memorable finish.
For a perfect pairing, enjoy the Ashton VSG Wizard with a tawny port after a meal. Smokers familiar with Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial or Padilla Signature 1932 will appreciate its dynamic, evolving flavor profile and the ever-changing, exciting smoking experience.
