Cohiba Macassar
While ultra-premium cigars have long been a part of the landscape at General Cigar Co., sticks topping $20 at MSRP are still somewhat of a rarity for the company. Heck, that is a high price point for the industry at large. Cohiba Macassar is just one such cigar. With fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a Connecticut habano binder that are aged for four to six years separately before being rolled together, these Cohiba Macassar cigars are quite a treat. Add to that the knowledge that the last of those years of aging is while the leaves are finished in Dominican rum barrels, and this is about when you discover that you are about to taste something extraordinary.
