When Sam Leccia presented his idea for the Nub line of cigars to the honchos at Oliva, they initially thought he was crazy. Who would buy a short and fat cigar? Despite Leccia leaving Oliva for other opportunities, the brand still lives on and grows in popularity.
All of the Nub cigars are medium-to-full in body and have a blast of pepper that is sure to wake your palate up, but the actual greatness of this cigar is in the different wrapper leaves used. Each different wrapper is going to give you a completely different flavor profile that ranges from the milder and creamy Connecticut, to the sweeter Maduro, or the spicy Habano, and the baking spice sweetness found in the Cameroon.

1 x Nub Cameroon 460 – (4" x 60, ●●●●○ Medium-Full, Rated 92) Starts off earthy, yet sweet, then gradually gains strength as heavy notes of cedar and white pepper begin to come about. The finish is very crisp and clean, and Nub Cameroon is indubitably a true medium-bodied cigar.
1 x Nub Connecticut 460 – (4" x 60, ●●●○○ Medium, Rated 89) Soon after lighting, flavors broaden and shift to produce hints of spice and oak with just enough of a shade wrapper's familiar grassiness. Once you reach the point where solid ash makes up half of what you hold in your hand, plenty of sweet cream and a little nuttiness will have smoothed the thick smoke into an awesome treat. This means that all the smoker has to do, is sit back and enjoy the crisp flavors of fresh roast coffee, oak, caramel, and a touch of red pepper.
1 x Nub Maduro 460 – (4" x 60, ●●●○○ Medium, Rated 90) Beginning with an eagerly anticipated chocolaty kick, there is a touch of raisin-like sweetness on the exhale which adds a nice depth. If you take some time to swirl the creamy flavors around your palate, toasted wood and exotic spices will peek out from beneath what is otherwise a tobacco-focused medium-full profile.
1 x Cain Nub Habano 460 – (4" x 60, ●●●●● Full, Rated 88) - Launching into top form without delay, a duality of spiciness greets the palate reminiscent of cinnamon raisin cookie sweetness and some pungent clove. If you somehow remain unimpressed, there's still plenty of leather and chocolate, earth and black coffee available during the slow, cool burning time.
1 x Cain F Nub 460 – (4" x 60, ●●●●● Full, Rated 92) A definite peppery aroma is present from the get-go, and it never ceases from beginning to end. The luscious smoke that fills your mouth will grace your palate with notes of leather and cedar, but the spice is what overtakes everything on the finish.
