Warped Eagles Descent Toro Especial Cigars
Warped Eagles Descent is a highly sought-after limited release treat especially intended for the most discriminating lovers of fine cigars. Originally released in 2019 at Hawaii’s exclusive R. Field Wine Company, this special concoction takes the idea of a boutique cigar to the extreme. Shortly after its unveiling in Hawaii, Eagles Descent was made available on a national level, but on a very limited basis. The 5 5/8” x 52 Toro is made in Nicaragua at the AGANORSA-owned TABSA factory and uses only the finest aged tobacco leaves. Being a Nicaraguan puro, all leaves are grown on AGANORSA farms and all come from Nicaragua—wrapper, filler, and binder. The filler blend is made up of Corojo and Criollo leaves, meaning the total package is never going to be lacking in the flavor department. The original release was limited to only 4,000 total cigars and set to be available only at select retailers. Needless to say, those fortunate enough to get their hands on one have had nothing but positive things to report.
One simple band adorns each stick, depicting an ornate eagle atop a jet black background. As we all know with Warped cigars, however, the packaging is always simple, but the blend never follows suit. The construction is everything one would expect from a top shelf boutique cigar, meaning a soft, productive draw and plenty of thick, billowing smoke. From the get-go, the rich, earthy core makes its presence known. Around this core, bold notes of cedar and white pepper dance across the palate, tingling the lips with every puff. Cinnamon, raw tobacco, and a faint espresso note round out the profile, and the finish is spicy and clean, with just a hint of citrus on the tip of the tongue. Finishing on the heavy side of medium-full-bodied, Eagles Descent proves to be a bold, yet intricate work of art.
It goes without saying that Eagles Descent is meant only for long-time cigar fanatics with highly developed palates. Though the overall theme of the flavor profile may seem simple at a glance, the subtle complexities throughout the smoking experience demand experience in order to be truly appreciated.
