Alongside Xen by Nish Patel, Rocky Patel introduced another cigar that bared the name of a fellow Patel family member, Thunder by Nimish Sixty-Two cigars. Nimish Desai is Rocky's cousin and he has played a pretty big role with the company for years, so Rocky gave him his own cigar. Like Xen, these are made at Rocky's new Nicaraguan boutique factory, TAVICUSA, but this is quite a different cigar. The 6" x 62 Thunder by Nimish Sixty-Two cigar uses a dark and hearty Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an interesting dual binder of Nicaraguan and Honduran leaves. The Thunder is packed chock full with Costa Rica, Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. The dual binder is a technique that is getting used more and more frequently, with notable applications on cigars like the Guillermo León. The dual binders and Costa Rican filler provide an interesting mixture, there's a noticeable chocolate underneath the heavy array of spices, joined by leather, coffee and earth. The Thunder by Nimish Sixty-Two cigar lives up to its name, full in just about every way, including smoke production, which is impressive. If you are looking for an alternative to the Edge that has a more balanced profile, but still provides the full cigar feel, Thunder by Nimish Sixty-Two is your answer.
