Te-Amo Revolution Toro Cigars
It doesn't get more classic than Mexican cigar stalwart Te-Amo, and with their new Revolution it is like meeting an old friend all over again. Made in Mexico, this cigar is rigidly square-pressed in the new "oval" style and offers a wonderful full-bodied smoking experience. With fine aged Mexican filler tobacco, the Te Amo Revolution still maintains that flavor profile fans of the brand know and love, but the addition of Nicaraguan adds a new complexity to the blend. Mixed with a San Andres corojo binder and a San Andres Habano wrapper, this is a full-bodied cigar that needs to be experienced.
The band is red, white, and black and exclaims Revolution. The medium brown wrapper is surprisingly smooth and veinless. Upon bringing this cigar to your lips, a nice spice starts to tingle and that pepper only intensifies with flame. The first half of this cigar has that classic Mexican earthiness, but the Nicaraguan spice does not hide. This cigar is full of body as well as flavor.
The revolution has started, and along with all the other retooling of classic cigars Altadis did in 2012, the Te Amo Revolution Toro is up there with the best. This stick placed no. 13 in Cigar Aficionados top 20 cigars of 2014. The power makes this hard to call it a great cigar for anytime of day, but after a nice meal it is hard to beat. We would also recommend the Monte by Montecristo as well.
