San Lotano Maduro Churchill Cigars
The San Lotano Maduro Churchill measures a stately 7" x 52, offering a long, refined expression of one of AJ Fernandez’s most acclaimed blends. After years of quietly crafting many of the cigar world’s most celebrated releases, the Cuban-born master blender finally launched his own national brand—San Lotano—produced at his famed Tabacalera Fernandez factory in Nicaragua, the same facility known for Man O’ War and other top-tier cigars. The San Lotano Requiem Maduro blend has earned multiple awards including a 92 rating by Cigar Aficionado.
Fernandez’s exceptional tobacco expertise shines across the San Lotano lineup, each blend built from a diverse selection of high-quality leaves. With additions like the innovative San Lotano Oval—featuring aged and proprietary tobaccos—the line has expanded into truly distinctive territory. The San Lotano Maduro is the darkest of the three original wrappers, showcasing a rich San Andrés Maduro wrapper from Mexico over a hearty blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. Unlike the other lines, the Maduro is box-pressed, giving each size a sleek, squared shape and a slow, even burn.
Expect a slow-building, complex profile that opens with cocoa and leather, followed by layers of sweetness, cream, earth, cedar, and pepper. This blend stands alongside other San Andrés–wrapped Nicaraguan favorites—such as the Oliva Serie V Maduro—delivering that signature sweet-and-spicy balance the combination is known for. Strength sits at medium, while body moves into medium-full and flavor reaches full, creating a richly satisfying experience. For enthusiasts wanting something lighter than the Habano, fuller than the Connecticut, and consistently well-constructed at a great value, the San Lotano Maduro Churchill offers exceptional character and a profile worthy of its 92 rating.
