Romeo y Julieta Crafted by AJ Fernandez Gordo Cigars
Romeo y Julieta Crafted by AJ Fernandez Gordo cigars were designed to stand out from the very beginning. This high-profile collaboration brings together the legendary heritage of Romeo y Julieta and Altadis USA with the modern blending brilliance of AJ Fernandez, one of Nicaragua’s most influential cigar makers. As the second release in the “remastered classics” series, following Hoyo de Monterrey Crafted by AJ Fernandez, this cigar has commanded attention since its launch in mid-2016.
Handcrafted in Nicaragua at Tabacalera Fernandez, the Romeo y Julieta Crafted by AJ Fernandez Gordo features a meticulously curated blend of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos grown on AJ Fernandez’s own farms. Each tobacco was harvested specifically for this blend, ensuring depth, consistency, and character. The cigar is finished with a dark, oily Habana 2000 Maduro wrapper that adds richness, complexity, and visual appeal.
True to AJ Fernandez’s reputation for quality construction, this Gordo delivers an effortless draw and dense, aromatic smoke. Flavor begins with a sweet and spicy opening, quickly evolving into bold notes of cocoa and mocha. Earthy tobacco flavors provide balance as classic maduro richness meets signature Nicaraguan spice. The profile concludes with a smooth, sweet raisin finish that highlights the blend’s precision and craftsmanship.
Medium-to-full-bodied, this cigar is an excellent choice for experienced smokers seeking complexity without harshness. Smooth, rich, and satisfying, it pairs beautifully with scotch, rum, or port wine. Measuring 6" x 60, the Gordo size offers a cool burn, expansive smoke output, and a long, leisurely smoking experience. Romeo y Julieta Crafted by AJ Fernandez Gordo is a standout example of modern cigar blending and a worthy addition to any humidor.
