Rocky Patel Prohibition Connecticut Broadleaf Toro cigars is a new line from Rocky Patel, a staunch defender of cigar smoker's rights, and they are meant to serve as a message to the FDA who is trying to impose on them. Packaged beautifully in branded mason jars, just like those used for moonshine during the prohibition on alcohol in the 1920s, this cigar is an amazingly well crafted 6 1/2 x 52 Toro. Available in both a Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper as well as a San Andres Mexican leaf, these are made with filler and binder from Rocky’s farm in Nicaragua. No matter which wrapper you choose, you will be great with a great tasting cigar. The filler blend gives flavors of spice and cedar and the notes of the wrapper change the complexity. The Connecticut broadleaf has a slightly sweeter mouthfeel that is layered with notes of coffee and leather. The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped stick has a slightly fuller body and features flavors of nuts and cedar as well as a long finish of dark cocoa. With the FDA trying to clamp down on premium cigars, leave it to Rocky Patel to make a statement with his cigars. Rocky Patel Prohibition Connecticut Broadleaf Toro is not just that though, it is truly a great cigar as well. This flavors in both these cigars pairs perfectly with coffee and are smooth enough to enjoy any time of day.
