Rocky's most expensive cigar ever and limited to a mere 2000 boxes, the original Fifty was the result of a four-year-long development project to celebrate Patel's fiftieth birthday. Containing a proprietary and secret blend of longleaf Nicaraguan tobaccos beneath a double binder and gorgeous Ecuadoran Habano-seed Oscuro wrapper, they were entirely something special. At first, a flourish of spice and cream greets the tongue during the first heady puffs. Soon after the razor-straight burn reaches the second third, the enthralled palate can discern tanned hide, espresso, golden raisin, cocoa, and marzipan. The cool-burning finale is a full-throttle rush full of pepper, orange peel, cedar, and peat.

Part of his Artisan Series, and thus in actual limited release, this fine smoke, if crafted of the finest Nicaraguan and Costa Rican tobacco for a taste both familiar and fantastic. Sturdy and stout, this Habano-wrapped cigar is a masterclass in cigar-rolling. Once aflame, each coffee-colored stick will deliver to the palate a wealth of flavor. From the woody, peppery beginning to a creamy spicy-sweet middle and on to the leather and earth-filled finale.

Filled to the brim with aged Nicaraguan and Costa Rican longleaf, it is the redolent Maduro wrapper from Costa Rica that makes this cigar one for the ages. Rolled with proper respect by the torcedors at Rocky's Esteli-based Tavicusa factory, the lush tobacco at the heart of this finely crafted vitola is then given a gentle box press to further enhance their flavor. Once lit, it first sends waves of earth, sorghum molasses, and exotic spice to the waiting palate, soon to be followed by tanned leather and creamy chocolate malt. A late-stage rally of espresso and pepper help accent the residual sweetness that remains throughout the cool-burning experience.

Unblemished wrappers, seamless and tight rolls, an excellent draw, and a steady burn are all hallmarks of Rocky's smokes. This stick has a bevy of delectable aromas and flavors. Beginning with a heady blast of mocha and hickory, the cigar slowly builds in strength and complexity with a razor-sharp burn.
