The Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary Torpedo cigar was designed by Rocky Patel to honor his, you guessed it, 15 years in the cigar making business. This 6 1/8" x 52 box pressed beauty is made up of Nicaraguan fillers and is wrapped in an Ecuadoran Habano leaf. This is a beautiful cigar with a dark, somewhat oily wrapper with little to no veining present.
The aroma off the foot has some dirty earth notes along with some hay and a non-distinct sweetness. The pre-light draw gave off some more of that musty barnyard flavor mixed with some cracked black pepper that coated the mouth. Once lit, the spice is joined by some delicious flavors including bitter/dark coffee and the chocolate flavor that Nicaraguan leaves are known for.
Now that this cigar has been out for awhile and has had some additional time to age, it has really come into its own. Give this Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary Torpedo cigar a try and perhaps save a few in your humidor to celebrate some anniversaries of your own.
