Using this treasure as inspiration, A.J. then blended a choice selection of succulent Nicaraguan longleaf to serve as the filler and binder to produce a cigar that delivers the type of satisfying and medium-full smoking experience so many of us hope for on a daily basis.
Breaking away from the dark wrappers typical of the Onyx lineup, the Onyx Vintage Nicaragua Robusto showcases a naturally mottled brown leaf with a well-aged, oily sheen, glimmering with hints of gold and red. The unlit 5" x 50 cigar teases with a mouthwatering aroma and a sticky-sweet taste on the lips, demanding a steady flame to ignite its densely packed foot. Once lit, it opens with bold notes of cocoa, black pepper, and a rich, chewy earthiness. As the sharp burn line progresses, layers of smooth cedar, leather, toasted walnut, vanilla bean, and blackstrap molasses unfold across the palate.
