Nicaraguan Series by AJ Fernandez Robusto Cigars
The Nicaraguan Series by AJ Fernandez Robusto showcases why AJ Fernandez remains one of the most influential forces in modern cigar making. While he’s known for crafting blends with exotic longleaf from around the world, this 5" x 52 Nicaraguan puro proves that true mastery lies in balance, experience, and expert fermentation. Built with a selection of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos, many grown on AJ’s own farms, the robusto delivers a medium-full body with full flavor and impressive aging potential—yet it’s ready to perform beautifully the moment you light it.
Dressed in striking blue and gold bands, the robusto stands out visually in any humidor. Once lit, its depth becomes immediately clear: earth and dark chocolate take the lead alongside a hint of chili pepper, followed by smooth notes of malted milk, caramel, and raisins. Moving into the next third, a nougat-like fusion of almond and hazelnut adds richness before giving way to layered tones of coffee, dark berry, and allspice. A bold burst of black pepper caps off the final stretch, but the cigar maintains a cool smoke and an even burn from start to finish.
A natural choice for fans of bold Nicaraguan puros like El Baton or Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua, this robusto appeals to seasoned smokers and newcomers alike. Whether bought by the handful or the box, the Nicaraguan Series by AJ Fernandez Robusto is a dependable, flavor-forward cigar that earns its space in any humidor.
