New World Cameroon Gordo Cigars
The New World Cameroon Gordo brings AJ Fernandez’s signature craftsmanship into bold new territory. Known for blending hits for legends like Punch and Romeo y Julieta, AJ still keeps his roots strong with personal projects like this one. Inside this hefty 6" x 60 box-pressed cigar lies a complex blend of Nicaraguan longfillers and binder tobaccos—all cultivated on Fernandez’s own farms. But what sets it apart is the rich, golden African Cameroon wrapper that transforms this blend into a silky, spicy, medium-bodied masterpiece.
Many cigars from the New World Cameroon Selection have earned 90 ratings from Cigar Aficionado, a reflection of AJ Fernandez’s exceptional craftsmanship and the blend’s consistent quality and flavor.
Once lit, the New World Cameroon Gordo offers an inviting aroma of wood and leather, which soon gives way to subtler floral notes as the smoke deepens. The first third is mellow and textured, offering flavors of earth, rye, and cedar with a light marzipan sweetness. As the cigar opens up, warming spices and bold black coffee take the lead, followed by a finish of smooth caramel and dark chocolate.
It’s a noteworthy debut for the Cameroon wrapper in AJ’s lineup—and a welcome one. Smooth, generous in size, and affordably priced, this cigar is built for long, rewarding sessions. Keep more in your humidor than you think—this is one blend you'll reach for often.
