Meet Your Maker (MYM) - H. Upmann Stogie Stimulus Cigar Sampler

The H. Upmann brand saw it's beginning in 1844 Cuba, started by banker and cigar aficionado Hermann Upmann, and today it's one of the oldest selling brands in the cigar world. It's not often that you'll get a generous deal from a banker, but we made that happen with the H. Upmann Stogie Stimulus Sampler. You'll get eight cigars featuring several different wrappers: Pennsylvania Broadleaf, African Cameroon, Ecuadorian Sumatra, Ecuadorian Connecticut, and Ecuadorian Habano. This sampler is a great way to try eight H. Upmann offerings without breaking the bank!

The MYM - H. Upmann Stogie Stimulus Sampler Includes:

1 x H. Upmann 1844 Reserve Belicoso (6 1/8" x 52, ●●●●○ Medium-Full, 93 Rated) Selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2012 #15 Cigar Of The Year. H. Upmann is a brand with strong Cuban roots and is iconic among long-time cigar smokers. This is their core line and consists of a Dominican filler blend, a binder from Nicaragua, and a jaw dropping Habano wrapper from Ecuador. The 1844 Reserve Belicoso opens with a solid central flavor of earthy raw tobacco. There is white pepper both on the inhale and the finish and a vast array of creamy, nutty flavors in-between. A constant aroma of cedar lingers in the background throughout the smoke, making this classic a true replica of the Cubans of old.

1 x H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon Belicoso (6 1/8" x 52, ●●●○○ Medium, 92 Rated) The Vintage Cameroon, contains a revamped blend of longleaf filler from Peru, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic plus a Nicaraguan binder. Once the shimmering oily barrel is revealed beneath the cedar sleeve, your mind will reel with desire. Creamy, nutmeg-and-cardamom flavored smoke fills the room and the mouth right out of the gate, with some citrus in the aftertaste and an earthy black pepper in the retrohale. The profile wavers as you puff even as the burn does not, with rich dark chocolate-covered almonds one moment followed by rich cedar and espresso the next.

1 x H. Upmann by AJ Fernandez Toro (6" x 54, ●●●●○ Medium-Full, 90 Rated) A collaboration between the old guard and the new, this is a fantastic cigar no matter if you are an experienced smoker or a budding aficionado. This is a masterful blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican longleaf, concealed it beneath a bold Corojo ’99 binder, and topped it all off with a gorgeous Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. Offering a sweet barnyard smell, the toothy and thick Sumatra wrapper displays a few veins and tastes of cedar. The first third of this cigar floods the palate with the flavors of café con leche, marzipan, and malted barley. The second half fills the room with a beautiful floral aroma while providing some added cocoa and spice, while the final third delivers a rush of espresso and black pepper.

1 x H. Upmann Hispaniola by Jose Mendez Toro (6 1/8" x 52, ●●●●○ Medium-Full) This cigar consists of a filler blend from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, a Dominican Olor binder, and a golden-brown Ecuador Sumatra wrapper leaf. Classic packaging was a must for this release. Retro style cedar chests contain the gorgeous vitolas bearing rustic red and gold bands. The cigar itself is rustic and oily, boasting fine yellow veins throughout the surface. Impressive construction leads to a dense roll and a generous draw, yielding an opening of black pepper and toasty cedar. Creamy tobacco and roasted nuts are the stars of the show, along with hints of tangy citrus and spicy cayenne. A clean finish seals the deal.

1 x H. Upmann 1844 Anejo Toro (6" x 54, ●●●●○ Medium-Full) Each leaf of the Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan filler and every oily inch of the Pennsylvania Broadleaf binder and Ecuadorian Habano wrapper of this cigar have all been aged at least five long, leisurely years. The H. Upmann 1844 Añejo Toro caress the nostrils with a rich, warm, and earthy aroma reminiscent of baking spices and brown ale. The smoke that pours through the steady draw is equally as fragrant, all while the tastes of oak, tanned leather, black tea, gingerbread, buttercream, and dried stone fruit flow across the palate in waves of ever-shifting complexity.

1 x H. Upmann The Banker Annuity (6" x 52, ●●●○○ Medium) The Banker Annuity is the restoration of an award-winning, pre-turn of the century H. Upmann cigar originally reserved for wealthier clientele. The succulent filler tobacco stuffed into each well-appointed cigar is quality longleaf sourced from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic before being aged, blended, and expertly rolled beneath a sturdy yet elegant Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. A syrupy, spicy flavor-bomb full of molasses and red pepper, the strength note is kept in check by soothing cedar and toasted almonds. Even as the flavors caramelize into black licorice, smoked bitters, and leather, you still find hints of citrus to refresh the palate for the next slow puff.

1 x H. Upmann Connecticut Churchill (6 3/4" x 48, ●●○○○ Mild-Medium) With a complex blend of aged Nicaraguan and Dominican longleaf nestled beneath the silky Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, there’s plenty of medium-bodied flavor to be found in H. Upmann Connecticut Churchill. There is a small scrap of Maduro leaf covering the head of the otherwise uniformly golden barrel of each cigar. During a cold draw test, the tongue will taste the same warm nutmeg, cedar, and fresh hay the nose has been enjoying. For those expecting a simple profile full of empty promises and thin air, the flavors that pour from a freshly lit stick are a revelation. Leather, white pepper, coffee, cocoa, and earth rule the day, with a touch of molasses and orange zest just to keep things interesting.

1 x H. Upmann Herman's Batch Toro (6" x 52, ●●●○○ Medium) A new Classic in every sense of the word. That’s because these succulent parejos, filled to the brim with prime filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and two distinct Nicaraguan growing regions beneath a Dominican binder and four-year-aged Ecuadoran Habano wrapper, are designed to replicate the original Cuban-made H. Upmann from the mid-1800s. The sturdy Habano wrapper is toothy yet soft with a nice little pigtail to finish the cap. Aroma and cold draw flavors of an unlit stick are complimentary, both a little nutty and with a strong cocoa presence. The lit profile flourishes with oak, earth, vanilla, and Turbinado sugar during the cool-burning first half, while the lengthy second is rich with leather, marzipan, café con leche, and cinnamon.
