2 x Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro (6" x 52, ●●●●● Full, Rated 96). Selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2019 #1 Cigar of The Year. A stunner of a cigar cloaked in a velvety, rich brown wrapper. The binder and filler are also Nicaraguan, but any further details about the blend are kept strictly hush-hush. What won't be a secret, however, is the ride this cigar will give your taste buds. It begins with notes of chocolate, coffee, red pepper, and earth. Mid smoke, the pepper subsides, and the chocolate and earth notes take center stage. By the end of the smoke, the pepper returns along with a hint of sweet cedar. The fine balance of sweet, spice, and earth notes, along with an ideal burn rate and temperature, all made for a highly pleasurable and harmonious smoke.
2 x Aging Room Quattro Original Concerto (7" x 50, ●●●●○ Medium-Full, Rated 95). Selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2013 #2 Cigar of The Year. For this cigar a small batch of Sumatra is used for the wrapper, a once-in-a-lifetime find from a closed cigar factory and used exclusively to cover the Dominican filler and binder of the Quattro Original. Dark chocolate brown and leathery, it offers up a floral aroma and taste during a pre-light draw test, which passes with flying colors. Earthy and thick, the smoke that coats the palate once the cigar is lit is bright white and lingers in the nose to call forth beautiful oak and gentle nutmeg. At some point during the second third, an orange-like sweetness can be noticed on the tip of the tongue while the rest of the mouth-tingling flavors increase in strength and spiciness. The finale of the cigar slams into high gear, a spicy-sweet rush you will not want to put down.
2 x Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Concerto (7" x 50, ●●●●● Full, Rated 93). Selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2021 #14 Cigar of The Year. With the addition of Quattro Nicaragua, it's quickly lining up to be one of the finest offerings in the Aging Room stable. This superlative Nicaraguan puro is manufactured in Nicaragua at AJ's factory, Tabacalera Fernandez. This cigar, like its sibling, begins with notes of chocolate, coffee, red pepper, and earth. Mid smoke, the pepper subsides, and the chocolate and earth notes take center stage. By the end of the smoke, the pepper returns along with a hint of sweet cedar. The fine balance of sweet, spice, and earth notes, along with an ideal burn rate and temperature, all made for a highly pleasurable and harmonious smoke.
2 x Aging Room Quattro Maduro Concerto (7" x 50, ●●●●○ Medium-Full, Rated 90). The Sumatra-skinned original Quattro was ranked the best non-Cuban smoke of 2013 and received an incredible 95 rating. Sourcing a naturally dark and juicy San Andres leaf to serve as the wrapper and Dominican Habano tobaccos used as filler and binder, creator Jochy Blanco turned the Vibrato Maduro into a rousing medium-full orchestra of succulently sweet flavor. A host of harmonic flavors such as oak, sweet cream, white pepper, mocha, citrus peel, toast, and dried herbs all building to a crescendo of pleasure.
2 x Aging Room Quattro Connecticut Vibrato (6" x 54, ●●○○○ Mild-Medium). With a silky golden Ecuadoran shade wrapper overlaid onto a rich, complex blend of Dominican tobaccos, the Aging Room Connecticut is the mildest of the bunch even as it possesses a wealth of delicious flavor you’ll be reaching for morning, noon, and night. These handsome vitolas will release oak, espresso, hazelnut, cream, and a nice white pepper kick to keep you alert. Complex enough to pair wonderfully with a sherry-finished single malt scotch thanks to the earthy tastes of nutmeg, green tea, sourdough, and blackberry.
