The My Father Selection Toro Sampler includes:
1 x Don Pepin Garcia Original Blue Toro (6” x 50, ●●●●● Full). This is Jose “Don” Pepin Garcia’s personal favorite blend, using Nicaraguan fillers, Nicaraguan Criollo binders, and Nicaraguan Corojo wrappers. It is masterfully constructed to have an easy draw from which billowing clouds of bluish gray smoke plentifully flow. From first light the smoker is greeted by the infamous blast of intense spice across the entire palate. The smoke settles into an array of nutty and spicy flavors with heavy pepper and sweetness on the finish.
1 x Jamie Garcia Reserva Especial Toro (6” x 50, ●●●●○ Medium-Full). The binder is Ecuadorian with filler coming from both the Oliva and Pepin farms in Nicaragua. The construction is near perfect, just the right amount of filler and burning evenly all the way to the nub. Hitting the nose and tongue are notes of mocha, rich chocolate, nuts, cinnamon and a small smattering of spice.
1 x My Father La Antiguedad Toro (6” x 50, ●●●●○ Medium-Full). This cigar has the finest of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler tobaccos which are aged for a minimum of three and a half years. Double bound in both Nicaraguan criollo and corojo leaf, La Antiguedad is finished with a gorgeous Habano Ecuador rosado oscuro wrapper. This smoke burns as perfectly as any you have lit in a long time. The initial taste of cinnamon spice will hit you at first but after the first few puffs it settles into an astounding cigar with tons of flavor dancing across your palate.
1 x My Father El Centurion Toro (6” x 50, ●●●●● Full). A Nicaraguan puro, this premium smoke has a Sun Grown Criollo '98 wrapper which surrounds a Nicaraguan binder and three different Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, Corojo Habano, Criollo, and Sancti Spiritus. This masterpiece gives you that signature Don Pepin pepper blast right from the initial puff. After the first third there is seemingly a new flavor added to the mix after each puff. Oak, cedar, leather, nuts, espresso, and sweetness are all present and none overpower any of the others. The complexity of this cigar is something to be experienced.
1 x Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ Toro (6” x 50, ●●●●○ Medium-Full). This Nicaraguan puro has the best filler and binder and is wrapped with a light Nicaraguan Corojo Rosado wrapper leaf. Any worry of embarking on a flavorless journey is quenched as soon as the flame touches the foot. The signature Pepin blast of pepper hits you square in the face but quickly subsides to reveal a very complex and earthy cigar.
