My Father No. 2 Fresh Pack Sampler Includes:
1 x My Father La Antiguedad Toro (6” x 50 ●●●●○ Medium-Full, 92-Rated). This blend was selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2019 #20 Cigar of the Year. Made in the famous My Father factory in Nicaragua, La Antiguedad has the finest of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler tobaccos which are aged for a minimum of three and a half years. Double bound in both Nicaraguan criollo and corojo leaf, La Antiguedad is finished with a gorgeous Habano Ecuador rosado oscuro wrapper. The initial taste of cinnamon and spice hits you at first but after the first few puffs these meld into an astounding medium-to-full bodied cigar with tons of flavor dancing across your palate.
1 x Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial (6” x 50 ●●●●○ Medium-Full). The binder is Ecuadorian with filler coming from both the Oliva and Pepin farms in Nicaragua. The construction is near perfect, just the right amount of filler and burning evenly all the way to the nub. While it is a complex journey of flavors, the traditional Don Pepin spice is not the main player but is instead a complementary one. Hitting the nose and tongue are notes of mocha, rich chocolate, nuts, cinnamon and a small smattering of spice. While not the typical cigar we've come to expect from either Pepin, this one still is a wonderful treat.
1 x My Father La Gran Oferta Toro (6” x 50 ●●●●○ Medium-Full, 91-Rated). This blend consists of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos and a red-hued Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper leaf. Black pepper opens the experience, along with hints of cayenne and cinnamon. Spicy and bold, but not overpowering, the flavor profile builds in strength as a definitive dark chocolate note carries along with its nuances of oak and espresso. As for the finish, there is a sweet floral flavor and just a touch of black cherry through the nose. Clean, complex, and undeniably satisfying.
1 x El Centurion Toro (6” x 50 ●●●●● Full). A Nicaraguan puro, this premium smoke has a sun grown criollo '98 wrapper which surrounds a Nicaraguan binder and three different Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, corojo Habano, Criollo, and Sancti Spiritus. It gives you that signature Don Pepin pepper blast right from the initial puff. After the first third there is seemingly a new flavor added to the mix after each puff. Oak, cedar, leather, nuts, espresso, and sweetness are all present and none overpower any of the others. The complexity of this cigar is something to be experienced.
1 x Don Pepin Garcia Cuban-Classic Black Label Toro (6” x 50 ●●●●● Full, 92-Rated). This blend was selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2007 #17 Cigar Of The Year. This cigar has a rich brown Habano Rosado wrapper that firmly embraces expertly bunched fillers that reek with coca-like aromas. It is loaded with coffee and woodsy notes, the perfect draw for pumping out smoke. Some of the characteristic Don Pepin black pepper enters during the second third right about the time the cigar goes full-throttle, and it keeps the pedal down throughout the last half when some leather and spice are added to the ever-shifting mix.
