My Father La Opulencia Toro Gordo Cigars
The My Father La Opulencia Toro Gordo represents the height of Nicaraguan cigar artistry from Don Pepin Garcia and the My Father Cigars family. Since its introduction in 2017, La Opulencia has earned praise from critics and cigar lovers alike for its depth, balance, and visual beauty. The La Opulencia Toro from this exceptional blend earned the #2 spot on Cigar Aficionado’s 2018 Cigars of the Year list with an outstanding 95 rating, while many of the other vitolas also boast 90+ scores, solidifying this line’s reputation as one of the finest in modern cigar making.
This box-pressed masterpiece combines aged Nicaraguan long-fillers, a dual Corojo and Criollo binder, and a luxurious Mexican Rosado Oscuro wrapper that gleams with natural oils. Its marbled texture, ornate double bands, and green foot ribbon create a presentation as refined as the experience it delivers.
Upon lighting, expect Don Pepin’s signature white pepper and a touch of cinnamon spice, evolving into a complex profile of earth, cocoa, coffee, sweet tobacco, nutmeg, cedar, and baking spices. A hint of cayenne lingers on the finish, offering warmth without overpowering the palate.
At 7" x 56, the toro gordo delivers a long, leisurely smoking session with medium-full body and impeccable balance. Construction is flawless, ensuring a smooth draw, consistent burn, and generous smoke output throughout.
Pair this luxurious cigar with bourbon, scotch, dark rum, or espresso to fully appreciate its complexity. True to its name, “La Opulencia” means “The Opulent”—a perfect reflection of the richness, elegance, and craftsmanship that define this exceptional cigar.
