Montecristo Classic No. 2 (Torpedo) Cigars
Few names in the cigar world carry as much prestige as Montecristo, and the Montecristo Classic No. 2 (Torpedo) is one of the most legendary cigars to ever showcase the iconic fleur-de-lis band. Expertly handcrafted in the Dominican Republic at the renowned Tabacalera de Garcia, this cigar delivers a refined variation of the original Montecristo blend, offering a timeless flavor profile that continues to impress generation after generation. Built from a core of Dominican filler and binder tobaccos and finished with a silky, golden Connecticut Shade wrapper of the highest quality, this 91-rated blend by Cigar Aficionado is revered by aficionados worldwide for its consistency, elegance, and balance.
Each Montecristo Classic No. 2 is presented in the unmistakable yellow dress box, featuring the brand’s signature brown band accented with a golden fleur-de-lis. Its craftsmanship is second to none, yielding a smooth draw and an even, razor-sharp burn with every session. The flavor begins with a lively burst of spicy pepper, which gracefully transitions into a rich medley of earthy tobacco, delicate floral notes, and subtle touches of brown sugar and cayenne. Sitting just shy of medium-bodied, the cigar embodies balance and smoothness, while the 6 1/8" x 52 torpedo size enhances both flavor concentration and mouthfeel thanks to its tapered head.
While nearly all Montecristo cigars are considered ultra-premium, the Classic No. 2 is a versatile choice suited for both newcomers and seasoned smokers. Beginners will appreciate its forgiving profile and approachable strength, while experienced enthusiasts will admire its nostalgic character and the craftsmanship behind every puff. Perfectly paired with bourbon, single malt scotch, Champagne, or white wine, this cigar elevates any occasion, from casual evenings to celebratory milestones. Comparable to other top-tier Connecticut classics such as Ashton Classic and Diamond Crown, the Montecristo Classic No. 2 is more than just a cigar—it is a timeless icon that stands above fleeting trends. Smooth, elegant, and unforgettable, the Montecristo Classic No. 2 remains a true “classic” in every sense of the word.
