Monte by Montecristo AJ Fernandez Robusto Pack of 5 Cigars (Includes Free Shipping)
Few Altadis releases have made waves quite like Monte by Montecristo AJ Fernandez Robusto. From the start of his partnership with Altadis, AJ Fernandez made it clear that Montecristo was the brand he was most eager to tackle—and the results speak for themselves. This powerful reimagining has stormed the cigar world, earning numerous 90+ ratings from Cigar Aficionado and redefining what a Montecristo can be.
The blend pulls no punches, featuring Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 and Dominican Piloto Cubano fillers, a fiery Nicaraguan Corojo ’98 binder, and a dark, well-aged Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Every element was carefully selected to deliver bold flavor, strength, and complexity, making this cigar a true standout for seasoned smokers.
Visually, the cigar is just as commanding. It arrives in gleaming gold boxes stamped with the Montecristo trident, while each box-pressed robusto wears dual black-and-gold bands—one classic Montecristo, the other a bold MONTE statement. Once lit, thick clouds of smoke flood the palate with sweet bread, baking spices, and bursts of white pepper layered over rich, aged tobacco. Cedar and cream linger on the finish as the profile evolves from medium-full to unapologetically full-bodied. At 4 ¼” x 54, the robusto delivers a short, punchy smoke that captures the blend’s full intensity.
Stronger and more aggressive than its Dominican counterparts, Monte by Montecristo AJ Fernandez Robusto is built for experienced palates. It’s best enjoyed on a full stomach and pairs beautifully with tawny port, dark beer, or strong coffee. If you’ve enjoyed AJ Fernandez collaborations like Hoyo La Amistad or Ramon Allones by AJ Fernandez, this cigar belongs in your rotation. AJ Fernandez didn’t just modernize Montecristo—he unleashed its boldest expression yet.
