When it comes to succulent flavor and delightful complexity, the MBombay Habano Robusto is a medium-full strength boutique cigar worth exploring. While you may not be familiar with the quality sticks rolling out of Bombay Tabak, at least not yet, you should know that owner Mel Shah takes a somewhat unconventional approach in the creation of his highly-rated stable of stogies by having them meticulously handcrafted in Costa Rica. In addition, Shah includes a generous portion of Peruvian longleaf alongside the Nicaraguan filler in each of these 4 1/2” X 50 cigars to create a unique and delicious flavor profile that elevates the Ecuadorian Criollo and Habano used as binder and wrapper, respectively.
While many brands decide to go with a minimal or classic style when designing the band for their cigars, each MBombay Habano Robusto is decorated with what looks like a miniature Persian rug. Very chic. Beneath, a smaller band remains to highlight the oily and golden-brown Habano which envelops the dense core. Exuding an aura of exotic spice and leather to the nose and the lips, the hearty vitola blossoms when lit into a flavor-packed experience loaded with white pepper and walnut, cream soda and cedar, black cherry and brown sugar. This is one stick you’ll regret putting down.
