Man O' War Toro Cigars
The Man O' War Toro 6 1/2" x 52 cigar, expertly blended and produced by A.J. Fernandez, features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and filler.The slightly oily, slightly veiny chocolate brown wrapper has a hint of red. The double cap is neat and smooth, while the cigar's length feels consistently springy—perhaps a bit more than ideal. The foot is well-packed, and even at rest on my desk, it emits a sweet, syrupy aroma reminiscent of dates or raisins.
The cold draw is slightly tight but near perfect, offering flavors of peppercorns, cedar, and a hint of almonds or walnuts. The first third is peppery, coating the tongue as the draw gradually eases. Smoking too quickly can result in harshness, so it's best to savor this cigar slowly. The second third introduces notes of leather, cocoa, and darker nutty flavors. The final third doesn't bring new flavors but changes in the dominance and interplay of existing ones. Smoking the Man O' War Toro too quickly will result in a hot, harsh taste, but taken slowly, it is an excellent cigar.
