LEAF by Oscar Sumatra Robusto Pack of 5 Cigars (Includes Free Shipping)
LEAF by Oscar Sumatra Robusto cigars are the prescription for what ails you. Feeling dull? Uninspired? Like you need to add some spice to your life? Then hop on this train to flavor town and don’t look back. Using a unique blend of Honduran tobaccos to deliver a whirlwind of flavor to your palate, creator Oscar Valladares has added even more of a blast by applying a juicy and bold Sumatra wrapper from Ecuador in what turns out to be a genius-level moment of artistic creation. In an effort to contain the beast within, instead of cellophane, you’ll find a full leaf of tobacco plus an agave-paper label has been used to protect each golden-brown treasure in this 5-pack. This blend was rated 91 by Cigar Aficionado.
Sumatra leaves are characteristically splotchy and somewhat thin, so of the four blends available in the LEAF by Oscar line this could be called the ugly one with a good personality even after removing the outer leaf. It might be cliché to say that appearance is only skin deep and it’s what’s on the inside that counts, but once you light one of these big 5" x 50 puppies up you’ll gain a true appreciation for how true that is. Leading with earthy tobacco, oak, and coffee, the reams of heavy smoke will also contain plenty of white pepper and citrus by the time the first third is done. The second half of the cigar provides some walnut, chocolate, and leather to add a final layer of complexity to what is already a medium-strength smorgasbord of delight.
Bundled cigars no longer carry the stigma of being el cheapos good for little more than yard work or dog walks, and the LEAF by Oscar Sumatra Robusto 5-pack might just be the final nail in that old coffin. In fact, holding one might make you a little hesitant to want to break up the party, so buying two bundles of your favorite LEAF is probably a good idea.
