Larutan Ltd. Pimp Stick Pack of 5 Cigars
Larutan Ltd. Pimp Stick is the first cigar offered in the Larutan Ltd. line from Drew Estate, a small batch extension to their formerly named Natural brand. For some background information, the Larutan series uses exotic tobaccos otherwise considered “unconventional” for cigar production, including leaves from Syria, Turkey, St. James Parish, and others. All Larutan cigars are rolled in the world-famous Drew Estate factory in Nicaragua and finished to the exacting specifications of Jonathan Drew himself. This Pimp Stick is a 6” x 52 perfecto containing a filler blend of Nicaraguan tobacco from Esteli and various strains of Dutch tobaccos for added flavor. The binder is Nicaraguan, and the wrapper is a dark and toothy Cameroon leaf that ties the package together.
The Pimp Stick is expertly crafted and beautiful in appearance. Both ends being tapered, the shape offers both a comfortable mouth feel and a satisfying buildup of flavor and intensity as the cigar progresses. The precision roll offers an easy draw and massive smoke production, along with a strong burn and tight ash. The experience starts out with cedar and sweet tobacco, both earthy and creamy in texture. The definitive sweet note remains throughout, as hints of toasty nuts and bakers’ spices decorate the rest of the flavor profile. The room note is unique and easy to appreciate, resembling that of aromatic pipe tobacco. Rich and smooth, Pimp Stick finishes smack dab in the middle of the spectrum as a solid medium-bodied cigar.
When people think of Drew Estate, the first thought that comes to mind is “flavored cigars.” Well, with the Larutan line (“Natural” spelled backwards, in case you haven’t noticed), no flavoring is needed. The blend itself is interesting and unique enough to raise the eyebrows of both the one enjoying it and those nearby that get to enjoy the fragrant smoke. Due to its medium body and simple, yet delicious flavor characteristics, Larutan Ltd. Pimp Stick is a cigar that can be enjoyed by just about anyone, whether beginner or seasoned connoisseur. It pairs amazingly with coffee, but also goes along well with a good dark beer. If you have tried the original Larutan lineup (formerly known as Natural), it goes without saying that trying this blend is a must. Fans of other non-flavored Drew Estate blends such as Undercrown or Liga Privada should consider the Pimp Stick as well, just to get a bit of a different experience from a Drew Estate cigar. Either way, Larutan Ltd. Pimp Stick is a cigar built for everyone, and it demonstrates just how dedicated Jonathan Drew is to be bringing new and delicious offerings to cigar fans across the globe.
