La Historia by E.P. Carrillo E-III Pack of 5 Cigars (Includes Free Shipping) | Cigar Aficionado 2014 #2 Cigar of the Year - Rated 95
Ernesto Perez Carrillo is a name synonymous with world-class cigars. From his groundbreaking work with La Gloria Cubana to establishing his own brand, Carrillo has consistently delivered exceptional craftsmanship. The La Historia E-III was created as a tribute to all the mentors, friends, and influences that shaped his mastery of the craft. Notably, this is the first box-pressed cigar produced by E.P. Carrillo, and it has already earned critical acclaim.
Wrapped in a dark, oily San Andrés Maduro leaf, paired with an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and aged Nicaraguan filler, La Historia delivers a luxurious medium-full-bodied smoke. It earned the prestigious #2 spot in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2014, rated 95 points.
The cigar’s striking black wrapper is accented with a vibrant, elegant band. Even before lighting, the oils exude rich aroma, offering a smooth earthiness on the palate. Once lit, notes of bitter dark chocolate emerge, evolving toward the finish with hints of leather that perfectly balance the complex flavor profile. Measuring 6 7/8” x 54, this masterfully crafted stick pays homage to classic cigar flavors while showcasing Carrillo’s refined skill and passion.
La Historia E-III is perfect for evening enjoyment, pairing beautifully with a sweet after-dinner cordial to complement its bitter chocolate notes. For a taste of Carrillo’s roots and original inspiration, consider pairing with La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro, a nod to the legacy that helped shape one of the finest cigar makers of our time.
