The blend is a simple and straightforward recipe of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobacco beneath a golden Connecticut wrapper grown in Ecuador. From first light, the woody core of the flavor profile establishes its dominance, as sweet cedar becomes the star of the show. Hints of vanilla, sweet cream, and citrus all make appearances along the way, and a solid dose of spicy white pepper brings the whole package together.
1 x La Aroma De Cuba Reserva Divino (6 ¼” x 52 ●●●●● Full, 94-Rated). This blend made the 2013 #17 Cigar Of The Year. Constructed in the flagship My Father factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, the Garcia family pulled no punches with this beauty. Filled and bound with only the best, aged Nicaraguan tobaccos, the key to the Mi Amor Reserva is the gorgeous Mexican Oscuro wrapper. A traditional box-pressed cigar, this full-bodied smoke has rich flavors. The deep, chocolatey-brown Oscuro wrapper is something that needs to be seen. Pre-light, the wrapper left a slight sweetness on the lips, but post flame it was all about the spice. Never overpowering, the signature Pepin spice was always present, but so were tastes of cedar and a slight cocoa finish.

This box pressed beauty is made in conjunction with the Garcia family at the My Father Cigar Factory in Esteli. This cigar comprises a Cuban-seed Mexican Maduro wrapper and some of the best leaves that Nicaragua has to offer. The pre-light draw just oozes chocolatey goodness into the mouth. Lighting this stick is a must. Once lit, one's mouth is coated with that smooth chocolaty goodness that we got a whiff of in the cold draw with a Spanish cedar undertone. Along the length of this awesome smoke, we experienced a plethora of great flavors including coffee, cedar, leather, caramel, dark dried cherries, and what would a Pepin stick be without at least a little bit of spice and pepper. The spice and pepper were never the dominant flavors and provided a wonderful backdrop for all those other flavors to play off of and contrast with.

Made under the supervision of Pepín García, this cigar’s wrapper is grown in the misty valleys of Ecuador which covers a mixture of aged Nicaraguan fillers. The toro-shaped #3 is a wonderful smoke, brimming with spice, coffee, and cocoa notes.
