Illusione Singulare 2016 Kadosh is the seventh cigar in the exotic and highly sought-after Singulare series from Illusione Cigars. Yearly, Illusione releases a new addition to the Singulare series, which began as a limited-run project back in 2010. Since then, it's become a regular addition to the Illusione portfolio, each year bringing a new size and blend. This latest blend, Kadosh, was presented before the 2016 IPCPR trade show when Illusione announced that another handful of previous releases would be added to regular production along with it. Kadosh is an ultra-premium Nicaraguan handmade stogie consisting of a spicy blend of Nicaraguan Criollo 98 and 99 fillers, a Nicaraguan binder, and one of the finest Corojo wrappers Nicaragua has to offer. All in all, it's a connoisseur-level cigar that's already garnered a ton of attention since its release.
Of course, Singulare Kadosh boasts all the precision engineering aficionados have come to know and love about the Illusione brand, but this particular stick is a welcomed addition to the mix because of its size. Kadosh is the first short smoke in the Singulare series, measuring up at 4 1/4" x 48 and classified as a "Petit Churchill," or for everyday cigar fans, a short robusto. As far as performance, it's nothing short of top-notch. A flush draw produces plumes of thick blue smoke, presenting an astonishing array of spicy, hearty flavors. Beginning heavy on the white pepper, Singulare Kadosh soon turns sweet and nutty, with subtle hints of cocoa, cinnamon, and black cherry. A sweet, spicy, and clean finish finalizes the flavor profile. As would be expected with a Nicaraguan puro, Singulare Kadosh gains power as it progresses, beginning at the border of medium-full and finishing at rich, full strength.
Illusione cigars were never intended to be smoked by newbies. The Singulare series is no exception, being aimed specifically at hardcore cigar fanatics and discriminating connoisseurs. Singulare Kadosh is bold and complex so that a good single malt scotch would make a fantastic pairing alongside. Other phenomenal, highly-rated sticks from Illusione include Epernay and Fume D'Amour. Although a regular production cigar, Illusione Singulare Kadosh is still rolled in semi-limited quantities, so it'd be a good idea to get them while you can!
