Herrera Esteli Habano Toro Especial Pack of 5 Cigars - Scored a 93-Rated Blend by Cigar Aficionado (Free Shipping!)
The Herrera Estelí Habano Toro Especial is a cornerstone in Drew Estate’s lineup of ultra-premium cigars, joining celebrated releases like Liga Privada and MUWAT. This blend also carries historic significance, as it was the very first cigar created by master blender Willy Herrera after joining Drew Estate. With Cuban roots and an old-world approach, Herrera was given a year in Nicaragua, complete access to Drew Estate’s finest tobaccos, and complete creative freedom. What followed was countless experiments and discarded blends, all leading to a cigar that would cement his place in the industry: Herrera Estelí Habano. The Toro Especial, measuring 6” x 52, delivers a long, refined smoking experience ideal for those who want to savor every nuance.
This Herrera Estelí Habano blend was awarded 93 points and named the #15 Cigar of the Year 2021 by Cigar Aficionado.
Featuring a Nicaraguan filler core, Honduran binder, and an elegant Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, this cigar is constructed with flawless precision. A firm pack and effortless draw allow the flavors to shine, beginning with creamy spice, cedar, and earth before unfolding into notes of leather, raw tobacco, and subtle sweetness. Medium-to-full in body, the Toro Especial maintains a balance of power and refinement that captures the essence of Cuban tradition while embracing modern blending artistry.
While approachable, this cigar is best suited for more experienced aficionados who appreciate complex flavor transitions and premium craftsmanship. It pairs beautifully with bourbon, scotch, or even aged rum, and holds its own against classic Cuban throwbacks like Don Pepin Blue Label and Padrón. For those wanting to explore further, the follow-up Herrera Estelí Norteño offers a fascinating counterpoint to the original. Elegant, bold, and endlessly satisfying, the Herrera Estelí Habano Toro Especial is a must-have for any serious cigar enthusiast’s collection.
