When Guillermo Rico and George A. Rico had a falling out, George created a new brand G.A.R. Cigars. While the father and son are back together again, G.A.R. is continued to be made to this day. The G.A.R. White is the original blend, packaged in unique white boxes of twenty cigars featuring simplistic white foot bands. G.A.R. White is offered in four box-pressed sizes from the Rico's Honduran factory: Gran Consul (4 3/4 x 60), Corona Gorda (6 x 46), Rico Grande (6 x 54) and Robusto Grande (5 1/2 x52) with an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers.
For fans of Corojo, you'll notice cedar, pepper and leather, however it's joined by sweetness, a more generic woodsiness and a bit of earth. While George Rico claims this is a full cigar, it's more medium-full in body, medium in strength and medium-full in flavor. Don't shy away from the dark wrapper, this is a great cigar to pair with coffee or enjoy through out any part of the day. For those that have enjoyed Gran Habanos over the year, G.A.R. might be a step up in strength, but the quality remains the same.
