Foundation is owned and operated by Nicholas Melillo, former Head of Production at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate. Over a decade in Nicaragua, Melillo built a reputation as a master blender of hearty Nicaraguan tobaccos, creating some of the most celebrated cigars in the industry, including Liga Privada No. 9, UF-13, T52, and Nica Rustica. After parting ways with Drew Estate, Melillo launched the Foundation brand, with his first release, El Gueguense, earning high ratings and a place on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 list.
The Tabernacle, created in collaboration with AJ Fernandez, is produced at the renowned Tabacalera Fernandez in Nicaragua, using some of the world’s finest tobaccos, including selections from Fernandez’s personal farm, La Soledad. The blend features Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and a dark, toothy Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, creating a visually striking cigar with a complex, full-bodied flavor profile. The line has also received 90-point ratings from Cigar Aficionado, confirming its excellence among premium Maduro cigars.
Rolled with AJ Fernandez’s signature precision, The Tabernacle Doble Corona delivers a flawless draw and thick, flavorful smoke.
