El Rey Del Mundo Cafe Noir Cigars
The El Rey del Mundo Café Noir Maduro carries with it a legacy that stretches back generations. Originally born as a classic Cuban brand, today it’s handcrafted in Honduras by the renowned Villazon family—the same artisans behind legends like Punch and Hoyo de Monterrey. This cigar became a star during the 1990s cigar boom and has remained a connoisseur’s favorite ever since. Built from a flavorful core of Honduran, Dominican, and Nicaraguan long-fillers, bound with a sturdy Honduran binder, and finished in a jet-black Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper, the Café Noir Maduro offers a rich smoking experience worthy of its name. With a well-earned 91 rating from Cigar Aficionado, it continues to stand as one of the greats.
Firmly rolled and densely packed, this petite corona (4 ½" x 35) delivers thick plumes of smooth, blue smoke. The profile begins with raw tobacco and a burst of white pepper, quickly joined by cocoa tones from the broadleaf wrapper and layers of sweet spice and black coffee. Medium-to-full-bodied, the flavors intensify as the smoke develops, finishing bold, crisp, and satisfying without harshness.
Once a cigar for true aficionados, the Café Noir Maduro is now widely accessible, modestly priced, and versatile enough for both beginners and seasoned smokers. Perfect for a short 15–30 minute session, it pairs beautifully with bourbon or scotch and shines as a post-meal indulgence. Alongside its Villazon cousins Punch and Hoyo de Monterrey, this little powerhouse proves why El Rey del Mundo—“The King of the World”—still reigns as one of the timeless classics in the cigar world.
