After quickly building an intricate portfolio of world-spanning and world-class cigars, CAO’s founders elevated the concept of cigars to heights of flavor never before achieved with the first CAO Vision in 2007, a rare ultra-premium. The spectacular and updated 2022 release contains a hearty medium-full blend of Nicaraguan longleaf from Condega, Jalapa, and Esteli beneath a well-aged Honduran Jamastran wrapper.
Toothy and coated with an oily sheen, each exquisite 6” x 52 Toro smells of the volcanic soil itself from which the tobacco grew and ripened in sweltering heat. Through a steady draw, the taste of the unlit stick is rich with cedar and raw spice. A thick flame brings out the first hints of a caramel-like sweetness that will linger throughout the entire smoke, but the primary flavors are espresso, fresh-grated nutmeg and cocoa and red plum. During the second half, the profile shifts to another spectrum full of dark earth, toasted almonds, leather, sea salt, and a touch of cinnamon.
