Cain Daytona 654T Torpedo Cigars
The Cain Daytona 654T Torpedo is one of the latest offerings from Studio Tobac. While it is still a mostly ligero cigar, this Daytona is not nearly as powerful as it's brothers the Cain Maduro and the Cain F. One reviewer noted that it should have been named “Abel.”
The Habano wrapper is a lighter brown with almost a red hue to it and it along with the binder and filler all come from the Jalapa Valley of Nicaragua. The Cain Daytona is produced on the Oliva Family farms in Esteli. This is a full-flavored smooth cigar that you will want to smoke over and over again.
The foot of this Cain Daytona smells of cedar mixed with a hint of berries and a slight touch of pepper. In fact after taking a good whiff of this cigar, I ended up sneezing. Upon lighting the first inch of the Cain Daytona is heavy on the spice and pepper side of the spectrum but after that the spice and pepper fades away into the background. Taking over for that spice and pepper is nuts, coffee, and some sweet creaminess that reminds me of Werther’s Original.
The burn line is even, the ash is salt, and pepper colored, and there is a bit of carbon burn on the burn line. Probably should have let this one sit a few extra days in the humidor but it didn't affect the smoking experience any. The Cain Daytona put off copious amounts of smoke and a pleasant aroma.
All in all, the Cain Daytona is an excellent addition to the Cain line and in many ways shows that the Cain isn't all about strength, it can be about flavor too.
