Over the past three months, I have been lucky to have been able to smoke five great sticks from Cigar Place: Montecristo White Magnum Especial, Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut Nicaragua Toro, Montecristo Double Corona, Oliva Serie V Belicoso, and the Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Toro. Here is a recap below of each of the cigars including rating.

Montecristo White Magnum Especial

Mild, nutty and hefty! This cigar is perfect with your morning coffee as long as you have a few hours to spare. Showcasing its golden Connecticut wrapper, this cigar exemplifies the “White Series” that is pretty popular among cigar smokers who favor the Montecristo brand. During your smoke you will also get some strong differences between the first and second half of your smoke to enhance your smoking experience. READ FULL REVIEW

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut Nicaragua Toro

I struggled a bit with this one due to the wavy burn and overall difficulty in the draw in the second half of my smoke. I really though enjoyed the halfway point in my smoke with the pepper and extra creaminess. The rarity of the smoke really makes me want to try it again as it boasts a Connecticut wrapper from Nicaragua! I most likely would have scored much higher without all of the difficulty. Montecristo Double Corona

All sorts of smooth with this smoke! This cigar felt like a high quality stick and I really enjoyed especially the first half with the vanilla and spicy notes. This didn’t feel like your typical Montecristo, and having this smoke this cigar before I was surprised to have the new flavor or leather in the second half. It just assures me that you should always smoke a cigar more than once because you never know what flavors you will discover! READ FULL REVIEW

Oliva Serie V Belicoso - CA 2017 #3 Cigar of the Year

Packed with lots of flavor! I really enjoyed this cigar. There was a large contrast in flavors from the first to second half of my smoke. It felt like you were always surprised with what new flavor was going to be next. I have always been a big fan of the Oliva brand and this cigar was no different. This will definitely be on rotation in my humidor from now on. READ FULL REVIEW

Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Toro

Strange with a bit of a bite! This cigar threw me off quite a bit. Sweet with quite a bit of pepper, this is not your standard Connecticut. This cigar has an extra long aging process which definitely affects its flavor profiles. I was a big favorite of the second half of the smoke which brought sweetness, coffee, and pepper! If the first half of my smoke had been like the second, I would have scored way higher. The taste of burnt orange is not favorite of mine and really deterred the first half for me. READ FULL REVIEW
