Indulging in the La Gloria Cubana Serie S

La Gloria Cubana Serie S cigar review

It’s beginning to look a lot like……wait no, not yet. We still haven’t had Thanksgiving, and I am being bombarded by all things red and green. Now, don’t get me wrong I really love Christmas, but to have it invade my space starting in October is a real drag. Plus, Thanksgiving gets no credit whatsoever. I don’t think I could make it without my standard deviled eggs and pumpkin pie. This year though I am doing more of the cooking and will have to slave away all morning while watching the parade. However, prior to that I will be indulging in the La Gloria Cubana Serie S Robusto Gordo while I freeze to death on my patio. It is a real treat when the LGC releases a new cigar, and this one is no exception. This cigar uses Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers, Nicaraguan binder, and a Mexican San Andres wrapper. The band showcases the LGC brand against the chocolate wrapper.

I am very cold today, more so than usual. The Winter weather came in like the Flash and now I am seriously struggling with my usual smoke time. I admit, I hate smoking when it’s cold and even more when I have to be huddled in my garage. However, I am excited to smoke this cigar today due to all the praise I’ve seen. I am currently making my Thanksgiving shopping list and dreading going into the store later today. SHOP NOW!

Creamy and Nutty

The first half of my smoke is creamy and nutty with some Earth tones lingering in the background. It is sweet as well which blends well with the nuttiness. Towards the end of the first half there are some changes to the profile including the introduction of fruit and a little bitterness that I am not sure what it could be. There is a bit of a bite now and the sweetness has subsided. I am not sure how I feel about the change, but I have some hope.

Drastically Changes the Flavor Profile

I feel bad for all the fellow dog owners I see looking miserable as they walk their dogs on the sidewalk. The wind is a bit brutal and now I am struggling to feel the top half of my face. The second half of my smoke starts out a lot like the first but adds the creaminess back into it. The bitterness has worn off some which I am grateful for, however here comes the black pepper and coffee notes which drastically changes the flavor profile. It is sudden and surprising, and it stays this way to the end of my smoke. The construction remained flawless, and the draw was a little tight, but it didn’t bother me. All in all, it is a very good smoke with tons of surprises and interesting flavors.
