There is a chill in the air which only means one thing…..WINTER IS COMING. Ok, sorry for being so dramatic, but Winter is by far my least favorite thing about living in PA. I enjoy smoking on my patio and with how up and down these temperatures have been lately, not only has smoking outside been not as enjoyable, but my sinuses have been trying to kill me these past few weeks. I am preparing for trick r treating with my kiddo and getting my costume ready. This year I am going as Lady Deadpool and I am now regretting the cookies I have eaten before I try to put on this unbearably tight costume. However, before that drama ensues, I am taking the time to smoke the 2012 by Oscar Valladares. I have a lot of respect for Oscar and the way he came from being a bus driver for Rocky Patel to being one of the top names in the boutique cigar industry. It shows the sheer power of hard work and collaboration.

Creamy, Nutty, and Has Some Citrus Flavors
The first half of my smoke is creamy, nutty, and has some citrus flavors to it. This cigar produces quite a bit of smoke which makes my nose run. There isn’t any spice at all to it. I have been listening to my typical 90s grunge bands playlist on Spotify-a favorite of mine. I have been really into the band Bush lately again, rekindling my slight crush on Gavin Rossdale (let’s pretend that whole cheating on Gwen thing didn’t happen). I really enjoy the song “ Heavy is the Ocean,” which is playing currently. There really isn’t much change with the flavors heading into the 2nd half of my smoke. I hate to even say the word bland….but it’s what the cigar is giving right now.
A Bit of a Punch
There is a bit of a punch heading into the 2nd half, pepper perhaps. I am starting to get really hungry but will try to avoid eating till after trick r treating is over. I can barely breathe as it is in my costume. The pepper starts to pick up towards the end of my 2nd half, with bits of vanilla and still that creaminess. There though seems to be not much to this stick. It is pretty one noteish, which is surprising for Oscar. I had high hopes for this cigar and felt a little let down. The strength seemed to teeter on the medium side, going to full for a whole five minutes before sliding back down. No complaints about the construction or burn, but overall, just underwhelming.
