Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro - 2019 #1 Cigar of the Year
Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro cigars are a collaboration between Boutique Blends and master blender AJ Fernandez. Boutique Blends' Quattro line is their most successful project to date. With the addition of Quattro Nicaragua, it's quickly lining up to be one of the finest offerings in the Aging Room stable. This superlative Nicaraguan puro is manufactured in Nicaragua at AJ's factory, Tabacalera Fernandez.
Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro is a box-pressed torpedo, measuring 6" x 52. A stunner of a cigar cloaked in a velvety, rich brown wrapper. The binder and filler are also Nicaraguan, but any further details about the blend are kept strictly hush-hush. What won't be a secret, however, is the ride this cigar will give your taste buds. It begins with notes of chocolate, coffee, red pepper, and earth. Mid-smoke, the pepper subsides, and the chocolate and earth notes take center stage. By the end of the smoke, the pepper returns along with a hint of sweet cedar. The fine balance of sweet, spice, and earth notes, along with an ideal burn rate and temperature, all made for a highly pleasurable and harmonious smoke.

Oliva Serie V Belicoso - 2017 #3 Cigar of the Year
The notable Oliva Serie V Belicoso pack of 5 cigars is the crown jewel of the Oliva Cigar Company in Nicaragua. For years, if not decades, Oliva has been among the very top suppliers of cigar tobacco in the world. When they decided to start making their own brands of cigars, people started paying more attention. Then, when this cigar was introduced, the entire world of cigars went crazy, and for many years this ultra-premium treat was one of the hardest sticks to get a hold of. Made by the top rollers at Oliva, this amazing stick consists of Nicaraguan Jalapa Valley ligero fillers, a spicy Nicaraguan binder, and a gorgeous sun-grown Ecuadoran wrapper. This is one beast of a cigar, and well, it should be, as it helped start the "powerhouse" cigar movement when tastes went from full-flavored to extremely-full-flavored.

Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill - 2011 #1 Cigar of the Year
The Alec Bradley Prensado is a cigar that continues to amaze and astound a worldwide array of aficionados to this very day; after its big brother, the 96-rated Churchill, was hailed as cigar Numero Uno for all of 2011. It’s not like company founder Alan Rubin would just abandon his prized possession after having it reach the top. Through the years, he and all the fine folks at Alec Bradley have worked tirelessly to maintain the taste, quality, and artistry for which they are so well known. It’s an incredible feat indeed, what with the challenges of growing tobacco in ever-changing conditions, that the Nicaraguan and Honduran longleaf filler and complimentary Trojes-grown Corojo wrapper crucial to the Prensado’s success have maintained the exact palate-pleasing character that made the cigar such a hit in the first place.

CAO Flathead V660 Carb - 2015 #3 Cigar of the Year
The #3 cigar of the year, CAO Flathead V660 Carb 5 Pack, is one of the newest cigars from CAO, made in Nicaragua at the Scandinavian Tobacco factory in Esteli. Inspired by grease monkeys and rock 'n roll, Flathead is box-pressed, flat-headed, and funky. All sizes are named after car parts, and the box has a removable top that can be used as wall décor. This 6" x 60 hot new stick has Nicaraguan ligero fillers, a Habano Connecticut binder, and a dark, well-marbled Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. Buckle up because this hot rod gives one heck of a ride.
CAO Flathead V660 Carb starts its ignition with a strong, thick river of sweet, chocolatey flavor. The overall base is earthy, with just a few hints of pepper and coffee sprinkled about. As it evolves, a rich sweetness begins to dominate the flavor profile, giving bursts of floral and cocoa notes. Flathead is maduro and ligero at its best, with a wonderful mix of sweet, spicy, and strength.

Shop Singles by Type of Cigar Wrapper:
To paraphrase a familiar yet increasingly outdated idiom, you shouldn't judge a cigar by its color. Most experienced enthusiasts know that the particular hue of a cigar's wrapper doesn't really tell you all that much about the strength or flavor profile of the smoke, yet how many herf sessions have you attended where an occasional smoker grabs a lighter colored vitola over a darker one because they 'just don't like strong cigars'? Of course, it only takes one time puffing down something like a potent Rocky Patel The Edge Natural over a milder Arturo Fuente Maduro to learn that looks can certainly be deceiving. However, there are distinct differences in the flavor profiles of each wrapper type which affects how they are most often used. Try some for yourself...

Shop Singles by Cigar Strength
When people describe cigars, they usually talk about one of three things. They could be talking about the flavor of the cigar, about the body, or about the strength. The flavor is simple; it's essentially the flavors that enter your mouth when you smoke the cigar. The body of the cigar refers to the smoke that the cigar delivers. It details the texture as well as the sensation of the smoke as it enters the mouth.
The strength of a cigar, on the other hand, refers to the amount of nicotine that's present in a cigar. There are three basic levels when it comes to the strength of a cigar - mild, medium, and full (with some in between). Shop them now...
