The Asylum 60 x 6 Fresh Pack Sampler of 4 Cigars includes:
1 x Asylum 13 Corojo (6” x 60, ●●●●● Full). The talented torcedors at Eiroa’s Fabricas Unidas factory have subverted the original’s Nicaraguan puro roots by blending and bunching a plethora of all-Honduran tobaccos for the filler. A Honduran binder is applied, and then they complete the transformation by straight jacketing each vitola in a thick Corojo grown in the sultry Jamastran Valley in Honduras. Sweet tobacco in the cold draw intensifies into a spicier, sweeter tobacco flavor in the burn, the cool flowing smoke and very creamy. After the first inch, the power has ramped up and there is cocoa and red pepper to let you know this cigar means business.
1 x Asylum 13 Connecticut (6” x 60, ●●○○○ Mild-Medium). This stick has entwined juicy Honduran Corojo among the Habano leaves that serve as the rest of the filler and binder to give this glorious stogie plenty of strength and character. Then temper the insanity with a creamy Ecuadoran Connecticut wrapper for an entirely balanced experience. Sleek with oil, sturdily built, and redolent of cedar and nutmeg. A hefty dose of spice, a hallmark of Honduran Corojo, blends well with the more traditional wood and hay and roasted coffee flavors usually found in shade-enveloped cigars. Creamy and rich from top to bottom, you will resist laying it down for a long, long while.
1 x Asylum Nyctophilia (6” x 60, ●●●●● Full). Made in Honduras at Christian Eiroa’s El Aladino factory, this flavor bomb is lavishly layered with only the most premium aged maduro leaves from the inside out. The filler blend consists of dark Nicaraguan leaves, and the binder also hails from Nicaragua. The wrapper is a chocolate brown San Andres wrapper from Mexico, which some consider to be the finest maduro tobacco in the world. An easy draw effortlessly produces copious clouds of thick, white smoke, each puff pounding the palate hard with new flavors as the slow-burning cigar tells its story. The initial blast consists of earthy black pepper and cinnamon, with a heavy oak note lingering in the background. Dark chocolate, espresso, and cayenne dance around on the back of the tongue, and the finish is long, earthy, and spicy.
1 x Asylum Straight Jacket (6” x 60, ●●●●● Full). Crazy strong; this one goes to “11”. A Nicaraguan Puro packed solid with tobacco; this Gordo has a firm draw but delivers plenty of sugary sweet notes that range from malted chocolate to toasted almonds. It's balanced by notes of black pepper and oak. A powerhouse blend that requires some heavy restraints.
