Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (VSG) Pegasus Cigars
The Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (VSG) Pegasus showcases why the VSG line has become one of the most celebrated premium cigars of the last few decades. First released in 1999, the VSG helped elevate Ashton from a respected Cigar Boom-era brand into a powerhouse known for its luxurious, full-bodied blends. Early acclaim with a 93 rating has held strong over the years, proving its ability to win over new enthusiasts while keeping seasoned aficionados loyal.
Blended by Carlos Fuente Jr. at Tabacalera Fuente, the Pegasus is a 5" x 54 robusto that combines expertly aged Dominican tobaccos with a rare, sun-grown Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper cultivated exclusively for Ashton by the Oliva family. The wrapper—oily, firm, and full of natural depth—sets the tone for a complex and rewarding experience.
From the first draw, the Pegasus reveals sweet notes of black cherry and leather, joined by hints of cocoa, fresh-cut grass, and wood smoke. As the cigar progresses, waves of vanilla, oak, and exotic spice build toward a bold, full-bodied finish. True to its reputation, the burn is slow, cool, and razor-sharp, delivering a luxury smoking experience down to the nub.
Perfect for pairing with tawny port or a rich after-dinner drink, the Ashton VSG Pegasus offers the kind of refined yet powerful profile that rivals legendary blends like the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial or Padilla Signature 1932. A must-have for any serious cigar collection, this robusto proves once again why the VSG remains a benchmark for excellence.
