This is certainly the case with Villiger 1888 Nicaragua, one of Villiger’s first blends made at their Nicaraguan factory, Villiger de Nicaragua, which is co-owned by the world-renowned Joya de Nicaragua brand. 1888 Nicaragua was introduced in Europe in 2022, brought to the USA a year later, and now it has exploded as one of Villiger’s biggest hits here in America. A filler blend from Nicaragua and the USA, including a dose of the fabled Pennsylvania Broadleaf, is hugged by a spicy Nicaraguan binder. The wrapper leaf is a golden-brown Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf that adds a bit of classic flavor to the mix and holds the whole package together.
