San Cristobal

A sultry dark cigar has a golden band decorated with a colorful and majestic parrot. At first look we were astounded by the quality of the wrapper. It is hard to believe that a more perfect tobacco leaf could be found. Hardly a vein to be seen, we were sure San Cristobal would burn straight as an arrow, and we weren’t disappointed. Another marvel was how smooth the draw was considering how densely packed with tobacco this cigar felt. Initial puffs, as well as final ones, were like sipping through a straw. Initial light and smoke had a very small taste of pepper, not what we were used to from Pepin. Halfway through San Cristobal gave us a very pleasant surprise, a slight fruity, almost cherry-like, taste. Towards the end, this sweetness subsided, but it was a welcome addition to the complexity of this stick.

When one hears the name Don Pepin, they expect a perfectly constructed, full-flavor and body cigar, and that is exactly what San Cristobal delivers. Slightly heavy, but not a cigar which will overpower, we found it perfect for relaxing after a hard day of work, either in the office or on the golf course.
