Oscar Valladares seems to have an obsession with the unfinished cigar look, and with Raw Dog, he may have officially gone off the deep end! This Honduran puro may be made at Valladares’ own factory alongside his other award-winning cigars, but oh, how different this one is! By now, just about everyone and anyone that has taken any part in the cigar world in recent years has heard of the famed LEAF by Oscar, a stick Valladares made popular by offering with a faux wrapper that appeared to be a raw tobacco leaf. With Raw Dog, the mad scientist takes things one step further, here ELIMINATING the wrapper leaf altogether! The result is a cigar containing Honduran filler leaves from Jamastran and Copan and a high-grade Honduran binder leaf from Copan. An open head and brushed foot mean that a cutter is of no necessity here. It’s basically what a cigar is before a wrapper leaf is applied and it is cut to size. Speaking of size, Raw Dog comes in at a brutish 5” x 60 and is packed to the brim with delicious, aged tobacco. Be prepared for an entirely new experience!
