Plasencia Cigars have grown over the past decade or so to become a dominant force in the business. Long known for supplying tobacco for other brands, Nestor Plasencia shook the industry when he started bringing about some of the most celebrated sticks in history bearing his own name. This trend continues with Plasencia Cosecha 151. Named for the 151st crop since the family began growing tobacco, this stick uses tobacco exclusively from that 2016 crop and is rolled by hand in the family’s Tabacos de Oriente factory in Honduras. In addition, all tobacco used for this blend comes from Honduras—wrapper, filler, and binder, making it a true Honduran puro. Ultra-premium in every sense of the word, Cosecha 151 is the third cigar in the Cosecha series, following the 146 and 149, and many would agree that this is the best yet. The folks at Cigar Aficionado certainly seem to, according to a group of 90+ ratings, the highest being a very respectable 92. Cosecha 151 also made it into the famed magazine’s Top 25 cigars of 2024.
