Perdomo is one of the biggest names in the cigar business, and it never ceases to amaze connoisseurs the world over when they bring amazing blends to the table at more-than-reasonable prices. One such blend is the Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Sun Grown. Part of the Double Aged Vintage series, which also includes a Connecticut and Maduro variant, this Sun Grown is known to be aimed at an audience that wants just a bit more intensity out of their cigars. Like all Perdomo cigars, it is made by hand at Tabacalera Perdomo in Nicaragua. Unlike other cigars, however, the special part about this series is that all tobacco used for the cigars is bale aged for no less than 10 years. After that, the leaves spend an additional 2 years aging in charred white oak bourbon barrels to add yet another level of flavor. That means that for this blend, the Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler and binder tobacco, as well as the Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper, are all aged for 12 years! In the world of premium cigars, such extensive aging is a rarity, and only a select few names dare to go this extra mile. It’s no wonder why this stick has become one of Perdomo’s top releases to date.
