Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Maduro is the third, and final, installment in the Double Aged Vintage series that has satisfied millions of cigar lovers since its introduction in 2014. Handmade in Nicaragua at the famed Tabacalera Perdomo, this incredible series of cigars uses tobacco with more than twice the age of your typical ultra-premium stogie. As the process goes, all tobacco used in the construction of this series undergoes no less than 10 years of bale aging to bring the leaves beyond full maturity. After this, and only after this, does the same tobacco get transferred to the second stage of aging, this time in charred white oak bourbon barrels. This part of the process lasts an additional 2 years, bringing the total to (at least) 12 years! Expect delectable flavor and unmatched balance with each and every Double Aged Vintage cigar. For this maduro version, we have Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler tobacco, a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder, and a dark, ultra-oily Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper.

The Perdomo tobacco leaf logo glistens with gold around the edges on each elaborate cigar band. The coded color for the band on this Maduro variant is violet, and it looks beautiful against the nearly-black wrapper leaf, which seems to ooze with oils that sparkle in the light. Trademark Perdomo construction ensures great performance every single time, so there will always be a steady stream of thick, blue smoke. White pepper and oak are the first detectable flavors, and they greet the palate in a big way. This spicy opening settles very quickly into a sweet and creamy array of dark chocolate, coffee, and cinnamon. A hint of cayenne spiciness lingers in the back of the throat, and the finish is smooth and rich. This medium-full-bodied treasure boasts all the classic maduro attributes, but adds some edgy Nicaraguan flare to round it out into a phenomenal specimen of a cigar.
