Fast forward nearly a decade, and Montecristo Epic Craft Cured is born, a phenomenal collaboration between Altadis USA and one of the biggest names in cigars, Nestor Plasencia. This blend not only includes Nicaraguan filler leaves from all 3 major growing regions, but a Nicaraguan binder and wrapper as well. The rolling happens at the massive Plasencia Cigars S.A. factory in Nicaragua. You read that right, a Montecristo that can be legitimately deemed a Nicaraguan puro! Further, all three component leaves undergo extensive curing in small basins called pilones prior to production.
